Tokyo Summer: Accommodation & meals

Homestay

   The homestay allows students to live with local warm-hearted Japanese families, it is a quick way to improve the Japanese language and learn the culture.    Students have their own bedroom.  Meals are provided by the host family except lunch on school days.   Usually your host families do no speak fluent English, but most of them can speak and understand basic English.

The involvement of host families are different between the programs: for the  Youth Immersion programs, the host families are willing to share the Japanese language and culture with the students, and they are required by the program to commit a significant amount of time with the students, to interact with the students, to help with their language learning, to showcase Japanese culture.  For the Culture Discovery programs, the host families are interested in sharing the Japanese culture with the students, although there is no specific requirements for them to involve with the students.

Dormitory: 

For those students who want to live in dormitory, it allows them to stay together with other students. The dormitories are not on campus, they are provided and managed by third parties.  A 30,000 Yen dorm deposit is required, it will be refunded less the cleaning, electricity and damage charges.  It is expected that students from our school and those from other schools will live together in the same building.  Meals are not provided, but students can cook in the shared kitchen.  There are also many places to dine within walking distance.
